Valley Funeral Home Ltd. Staff send our condolences to family and friends.

From: Ian and Gloria Johns
Relation: Uncle

Our deepest sympathy to Shirley , Paul and family. Uncle Dave and Ian worked in Houdaille Industries and played golf, fished and played hockey together. Ian remembers Christmas get-to gathers, when they built house and cottages. Uncle Dave was the first person to take to Ian a drive-in. At one time Uncle Dave lived just down the street. And we spend a lot of time together at his cottage on Balsom Lake. At this time it is impossible to attend the funeral. Blessings. Ian and Gloria.

From: Miriam (Johns) and Herb Terry and family
Relation: Niece

Uncle Dave was my mother’s youngest brother and I remember him for his British accent (which I never noticed in my own Mom) and his quick smile which was much like Mom’s. I was quite young when he and Paul lived on Jane Avenue in Oshawa but I remember him frequently dropping into the house for tea with Mom. His happiness seemed greatest though when he met and married Shirley and although his health was recently compromised I’m sure she made the past 25 years wonderful. Condolences to Shirley, Paul and their families.
