In 1957, John met his wife, Agnes Anne Marshall, whom he married March 17, 1959. John went to work for Celgar as a tugboat captain until his retirement in 1981.
John and Agnes lived their lives in the Arrow Park area, raising cattle and loving their gardening time together. John had a passion for both hunting and fishing, spending many years doing both with various family members, friends, and neighbours.
